The Oakland Streets blog, run by a local citizen, has come across a report on why the streets of the city look like a war zone or as he/she put it: Why My Street Looks Like Beirut

I recently stumbled across an “OaklandStreets Fact Sheet” put out by the City of Oakland’s Public Works department. If you’ve ever wondered why some streets in Oakland look like a warzone, it’s definitely worth reading.

Though Beirut and Oakland might share the same problems in terms of street maintenance, the comparison here is of Beirut and a war zone and not the streets of Beirut. As I have no further information on Crimson, I will be sending him/her an electronic Looks Like Beirut certificate.
