Clearly it would not be possible down here in the Middle East:
In a bid to promote Arab unity, a group of Middle Eastern climbers aims to scale the highest peak on each of the seven continents, including Mount Everest.
…The climbers, from countries including Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon, are planning to undertake the challenge as part of a reality television show which will start next year and take two years.
…“We want to show that if Arab nations collaborate and join forces they can be a serious force. This is the important message we want to show the viewers,” said the man behind the project, Amin Sammakieh, 37, the Lebanese founder of Beirut-based Plan A television, which also operates in Dubai.
Noble cause, right? I mean Arab history is littered with instances where Arabs stood united on major issues. I can’t think of any at the moment. Come on, there has to be one thing all 25 Arab countries have agreed upon. You’d think Arab unity would result in less two dozen individual, independent countries.
No offense to the producers or the contestants taking part in the show, but honestly, the production will end up promoting the farce that is Arab unity.
Who’s Arab!? We’re Phoenician!

“[The show] will take two years”. Now it gets exciting! We’re gonna wait and see if they get into disagreements between each other or not!
