StartupArabia is reporting that the online bulk-purchase discount e-shop has added Beirut to its offering:
GoNabit, the online group-buying platform, that was launched for the region from Dubai earlier this year, has officially launched its first deal in Beirut Lebanon, marking its expansion into the third Arab city for it, after Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Basically the idea is quite simple. The people at the site negotiate discounts with a store or restaurant on condition that a certain number of buyers are committed to the purchase.
The first deal in Beirut is one for women, a 61% discount on a blow dry, manicure, and pedicure at the Fadia El Mendelek Salon in Beirut.
That deal has now closed and it seems to have been quite successful with 48 purchases made (while the minimum requirement was 10). Now if you want to learn to dance, GoNabit has a package from Khanito Dance Academy you can purchase at a 55% discount.
