Girls as young as 9 are coming in for facials and pedicures. Gone are the days when kids have birthday parties at fast-food joints, they are now choosing group spa treatments instead. The big question is, how will this affect their development?
The nay-sayers argue that it robs children of their childhood and misdirects their priorities in life. Supporters claim it teaches children good hygiene. Good hygiene? Is that the best they can think of? Isn’t that the job of, I don’t know, parents?
