Just in case you had no idea what Beirut looks like, Bernard Hastings of Clinton, Massachusetts believes he can best describe it:

“It looked like Beirut, Lebanon — a bombed-out war zone,” Mr. Hastings said last week.

Of course, Bernard has never visited the Lebanese capital and probably has never left the US, but he seems certain of how it would look like. According to Bernard, it would look like his neighborhood last year during the winter floods. This year though, he’s hoping that the community won’t face a repeat:

“I have been awfully nervous with the amount of snow we’ve had this year. I’m watching the drains at the end of the street. And until that date passes, well, I won’t stop worrying.”

While you’re sitting there worrying, why don’t you print this certificate and hang it up on your wall. Actually, I recommend laminating it first, just in case.
