[error]It appears that the nationalities of the people reported in the Indian press was wrong. The foreigners who committed the act were not Lebanese but rather Libyan.[/error]

Following on the highly publicized gang-rape case in Delhi, it seems Lebanese want to get in on the act:

A case under sections 509 (outraging the modesty of woman), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) has been registered against the four persons at the Connaught Place police station.

In her complaint, the hotel’s assistant manager alleged that she was shown obscene gestures and was intimidated by four persons sitting in a car belonging to Lebanese Embassy, a report published in HT said.

The four men, against whom a case has been registered, include two Lebanese nationals, one Algerian and one Yemeni national.

Information from another website seems to provide more details:

The foreigners, who claim to be officials of embassies of three African countries allegedly misbehaved and threatened a woman assistant manager of a prominent hotel in New Delhi on Monday evening, police said.

Of the four men against whom a case has been registered include two Lebanese national and one each Algerian and Yemeni.

But on Tuesday morning case was withdrawn against the two Lebanese national as they have diplomatic status. The two were let off after verification of documents.

How shameful.
