We’ve all heard it before: Switzerland of the Middle East, Paris of the Middle East, etc. Now its our turn to give our name to things (not to be confused with the “Looks Like Beirut” cliche; this one is original):
The “Lebanon of the Caucasus” is an alias used by many in the academic circles when examining the situation in the Republic of Georgia. This is due to the presence of all major ethnicities of the Caucasus within its borders.
Now we can add the Georgians with the Parisians and Swiss for people who must be annoyed for being compared to Lebanon.
