An interesting press release from Dubai-based developer Deyaar:
Deyaar Development PJSC is planning to build budget homes close to Beirut with Lebanon;s largest developer, Solidere, Bloomberg reported.
I was always under the belief that Solidere was solely focused in Downtown Beirut and had no activities outside that area.
When did Solidere extend its claws beyond Beirut? We’ll have to wait and see as more details emerge on what exactly “outside Beirut” means.

@jadaoun solidere outside beirut – see more on it here http://www.zawya.com/story.cfm/sidZAWYA2…
To my knowledge, the mandate of Solidere is limited to Downtown Beirut, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a new company forms held by Solidere international (the same company that’s doing the Ajman thing) which would use the expertise of Solidere but would have the mandate to move about here and there. Paperwork shouldn’t be too hard, now should it!??
True but in order to develop land, you need land. Unless you are going to force land owners to hand over their deeds, what’s use of a developer.
Where is Solidere’s land outside of DT Beirut? For the Ajman project, the land is leased for 99 years. Show me the land! Show me the land!
Solidere is not known for its transparency, but hey, we live in a global world and Solidere is a profit making business that realised that it could do even more money by expanding. So it created Solidere International (that works hand in hand with Saudi Oger and French Vinci. If you’re interested in more details, just google solidere, and then add the countries it is operating in: UAE, Jordan, Monaco, Morocco (not sure they got the contract though)…
A profit making business with special rights (when it comes to Lebanon). That worries me. They could have free reign to do as they please as they did in DT. In reference to the article, are we talking about Solidere, above-man-and-law, or Solidere Intl, the flesh-and-blood developer?
