Pictures coming out from the event seem to show that the world Debke record has been broken. Here are some photos I jacked from Facebook:
Congratulations to everyone who took part!
Thanks to my cousin Mazen for the photos.

The exact record now is 4475 people.
Thanks for the numbers, Serpico.
Breaking the Guinness World Record perhaps gives us some hope!? Bring 2 Lebanese in Lebanon together and you get an argument(Sorry for the stereotype). In Montreal 4475 broke a record. My hope is that one day this togetherness would be translated into a strong lobby. I’m not that naive, but still, this is my hope.
I blame it all on the media and constant bombardment of news and politics on the airwaves. The law that dictates that local television stations must allocate 60% to 70% of airtime to local productions is the cause. What is the cheapest form of locally produced show? All you need is a table, chair and a “journalist”. If 4000+ Lebanese were to get together in Lebanon for a debke, the only stomping there would be are of heads.
