Gordon Campbell Gray loves Beirut. I mean the guy only recently opened his first one-of-a-kind hotel in Lebanon and has plans for two more (one-of-a-kind hotels). If that’s not enough, now he wants to live here:
Breakfasting the following morning on the landscaped rooftop of Le Gray hotel with its Scottish owner, Gordon Campbell Gray, the scene is utterly serene. Water trickles over a glass-walled infinity pool. Guests shaded by taupe canvas umbrellas dip into fruit platters, flatbread still warm from the oven, herby Lebanese honey and thick, fragrant coffee. Church bells ring out from nearby Orthodox cathedrals, and then the muezzins’ call to prayer fills the air from the minarets.
“Isn’t it just too fabulous for words?” says Campbell Gray, contentedly surveying the blue sky, the chic clientele – attired in everything from sharp linen suits to full hijabs – and the smiling, super-efficient waiters. “It has to be the sexiest city on Earth, in my opinion. In fact, I think it’s so sexy, I’m seriously considering moving here.”
Campbell wants to move to Beirut because its sexy. So, to everyone living in Lebanon, please make sure when you wake up in the morning, crack open your windows and breath in all that sex. Don’t forget to exhale.
oh please. I’ve heard that one before. it lasts until they find themselves in a situation where they witness violence actually does occur every now and then in lebanon. as soon as they hear gun shots it’s all moaning about how much xanax they’ve been on lately. before you know it they have gone back to their countries. moving here? right, good luck mate.
Probably leave on the next military rescue boat, right?
Naughty boys!!! this is a great country!!!!!
I understand – I also believe that Lebanon is great but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t complain when things go horribly wrong. How else will the government get off its high-horse and get things done unless we speak out.
The only issue I have with Gray’s comment is that ‘sexiness’ should not be a reason for him to move to Lebanon. Heck, it shouldn’t be a reason for anyone to move anywhere. Reasons such as untapped market potential, growing industries, high-value workforce (i’m just fishing here) would be better reasons for why this entrepreneur would want to call Beirut his home. Also, sexy doesn’t last forever. As time goes by, you definitely need work done to maintain your looks; and clearly the Lebanese government is falling behind.
And What Was He Smoking in that Hookah ?
breath in all the “sex” hahaha made me laugh 😛
I agree with Gordon Campbell Gray!!!!!!!!! Beirut is fantastic……sexy, romantic the PEARL OF THE MIDDLE EAST, A rare JEWEL. Nothing is perfect all the time anywhere, so stop picking on Beirut! Appreciate what you have and stop all of you complaining and start living!!!!!!!!!!! Read what I wrote on the
