Los Angeles’ 23rd sister city has donated benches placed right in front of LA’s sister city signpost:

Los Angeles Beirut Sister Cities dedicated three new benches Downtown–one each for Councilmembers Eric Garcetti, Dennis Zine, and Tom LaBonge (for their work with the organization). The concrete and oak benches were designed by Trip Haenisch and will sit permanently under the Sister Cities signpost at First and Main.

Trip is a designer for the stars (and sometimes uses furniture made in Lebanon). According to his website:

His diverse client base includes Christina Aguilera, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, Hank Azaria, Cher, Producer Leonard Goldberg and wife Wendy, Merv Griffin, William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman, Edward Norton, Aaron Sorkin, John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn, Cheryl Tiegs, and William Morris Endeavor Co-CEO Patrick Whitesell and Lauren Sanchez.

And here are the benches, don’t they look great (notice the cedar on the concrete leg of bench):

And here’s a picture of the Sister City signposts near the benches (this photo was taken in 2006 when Beirut was added):
