Remember the deck of cards the Americans had with the photos of the Iraqi regime, well Haaretz is reporting, originally sourced from the Kuwaiti newspaper A-Rai Al-Am, that Hezbollah has pulled its own cards out of its sleeve:
The Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah has printed a deck of playing cards emboldened with the faces of senior Israeli officials, in an apparent show of its promise to carry out “revenge assassinations” over the killing of one of its top officials in Damascus two years ago.
Its list of targets include Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, Mossad chief Meir Dagan and Military Intelligence chief Amos Yadlin, former IDF chief Dan Halutz and former prime minister Ehud Olmert, according to the report.
I guess it would help Hezbollah’s foot soldiers remember their targets while they play a game of poker with their compatriots?
Update – September 17, 2010: Hezbollah has denied the existence of such cards, claiming it to “be against the culture of Hizbullah for it to use such reckless methods“. No surprise here – the story seemed unlikely from the start
