Remember when CNN was covering the events in Libya from Tripoli in Lebanon? Well, the Washington Times has clearly out done all other news channels with this Beirut gem:

Gunmen kill seven at TV station near Beirut

That’s the title of an article on their website. Without reading further, you might think to yourself “no one was killed during the attack on Al-Jadeed TV”. That is correct. The answer lies in the first sentence of the news story:

Gunmen attacked a pro-government TV station Wednesday near the Syrian capital, killing seven employees in the latest barrage of violence as world powers prepared for a high-level meeting that the U.S. hopes will be a turning point in the crisis.

The report is datelined Beirut which may have caused some confusion for the editor or worse, the Washington Times thinks that the capital of Syria is Beirut.
