The country that had left us with claustrophobic roads and evil roundabouts is back, this time, they plan to tame the streets of Beirut:
…six [French] officers […] have been in Beirut for the past two weeks as part of a cooperation project between the French and Lebanese interior ministries to help improve the flow of traffic through Beirut’s heavily congested streets.
Mission impossible, right? I just love how the article describes that French policeman’s uniform:
…dressed in smart uniform, peaked cap and immaculate white gloves.
Compared to the poor Lebanese policeman with his dust covered outfit, though I would expect those “immaculate white gloves” to become dark gray after a long day on the streets.
