A build-up on Najib’s and Rami’s posts, Alfa has announced that 200 subscribers will have access to 3G as a trial run until October 20th:

State-owned Lebanese mobile operator Alfa Telecom, which is managed by Egypt’s Orascom Telecom has began its pilot phase of its third-generation (3G) network.

The pilot is due to last until 20 October with 200 participants.

According to the information from MEED, the trial is also limited by geographic area with 3G availability starting  in Beirut and continuing up north until you hit Amchit.
