A reader (thanks Alf) pointed this one out to me:

Burning buildings, teenagers throwing stones, armoured police, in gas masks, standing on graffiti-covered steps; the scenes from Greece on our TV screens this morning look more suited to Jerusalem or Beirut than to a modern, European capital.

These are the words of Daniel Knowles (@dlknowles), Assistant Comment Editor at Telegraph.co.uk. You’d think Daniel would come up with an analogy closer to home:

The scenes from Greece look more suited to Jerusalem or Beirut than a modern European capital? Hm so what happened in London 6mths ago, a street party?

Daniel, I’ll be sending you your Looks Like Beirut certificate shortly.
