The group supposedly dedicated to Lebanon’s “unique identity… its basic human rights and dignity as a sovereign, independent, free democracy” has released a statement on the forest fires in Israel, no mention of ones in Lebanon:

On behalf of the Lebanese Canadian Coordinating Council (LCCC), I [Elias Bejjani] offer my condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the recent devastating forest fire in the State of Israel, and wish a quick recovery to those who were injured. My thoughts are with all those affected by this terrible fire.

Elias Bejjani is the founder and appointed chairman of the LCCC. The only mention they have of the fires in Lebanon is in their daily news bulletin under News Reports from Miscellaneous Sources. The fires in Lebanon don’t warrant a statement by a (so-called) “Lebanese” group. Does anyone take this group seriously?

An update on the fires though, they seem to be under control.
